Biodiesel plant likely operating next month

The location is just across the Michigan (USA) border in Canada.

A biodiesel production company on the former Chinook Global site near Sombra, Canada, could be up and running in the next month.

Mississauga-based Methes Energies held an open house at the 22-acre Holt Line West facility earlier this week, and about 100 people came out to ask questions, said company president John Loewen.

"They're just concerned about whether the company that's coming in is going to be a little bit more responsible than the last company was, and they're concerned about the smell," Loewen said.
